Strata Landscape is a full-service landscape construction and maintenance provider with a broad portfolio of projects and managed properties throughout Central Texas. Our focus on client partnerships and detail oriented approach set us apart from our peers. We work in all major Texas markets including Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston. We have both residential and commercial installation and maintenance teams. No project is too big or too small.

Licensed and Insured

We are a licensed, bonded, and fully insured contractor in the state of Texas.  We have licensed irrigators, chemical application specialists, and certified arborists ready to tackle any fertilization, pest management, or tree care need. We work with some of the largest general contractors in the country as well as a premier group of Central Texas home builders. We carry the standard suite of general liability and umbrella insurance.  We provide workman’s compensation for our labor force and can bond projects in excess of $3mm.  We are a licensed ROW contractor with the City of Austin.

FLEET AND EQUIPMENT

Our company owns and operates a wide array of excavators, skid steers, dozers, dump trucks, trenchers, rock saws, and compaction equipment. Strata has multiple welding rigs, mobile generators, impact equipment, and hundreds of power tools. We run a large fleet of late model heavy duty pickups, dump trucks, and a variety of trailers to move equipment and materials efficiently and safely. Our team includes CDL drivers and licensed equipment operators. We take pride in providing our own branded equipment and look forward to growing our fleet further over time.

ENVIRONMENTAL Care

At Strata Landscape, environmental stewardship is a core value. We recycle all scrap metal and we compost all organic waste. 100% of any remaining waste material (wood, concrete, and construction debris) is sorted and recycled off site by a licensed third-party vendor. We regularly conduct invasive species removals.  We also employ assertive SWPPP procedures, erosion control, and water resource protection. We donate resources and services to non-profits such as The Trail Conservancy, Austin Parks Foundation, and Hill Country Conservancy.

Tyler Zickert

Owner & Managing Principal 

Tyler has worked in the design and construction industry for the last 20 years providing clients with a broad background in landscape architecture and construction know-how. His current responsibilities include business development, design documentation, project financing, construction management and contract negotiation. He is also a member of the City of Austin Waterfront Planning Advisory Board, Onion Creek Park District and involved with several other non-profits including Austin Parks Foundation, Downtown Austin Alliance and Hill Country Conservancy.

Fabian Gutierrez

Owner & Construction Operations Manager

With 15 plus years of experience in landscape maintenance and complex landscape installs, Fabian brings a wealth of fundamental build knowledge to every project. His focus on detail and quality consistently exceeds expectations on even the most daunting of project challenges. Responsibilities include construction management, personnel coordination, client services and maintenance operations. He has managed several notable Texas projects including The Perot Museum of Nature and Science, The Austonian, The W Hotel Austin, and several high end residential installations.

Mark McIlwain

Maintenance Operations Manager

Mark oversees our enhancement projects and maintenance accounts and is committed to helping our clients continually improve the appearance and functional quality of their commercial properties and private residences. Landscape maintenance provides the first impression for any project and Mark is dedicated to offering the highest level of service to ensure properties look their best. He is also responsible for managing our enhancements team, irrigation audits and maintenance related updates. Irrigation License LI0025847.

Mike Garcia

Maintenance Manager

Mike has worked in landscape maintenance and construction for the last 15 years. He has a strong background in chemical application, IPM, and general landscape maintenance. Mike's primary focus is on maintenance accounts and chemical application but will also be assisting with enhancements. He's a team player and always striving to provide top-notch customer service.

Paul Christensen

Construction Manager

Paul has worked in the landscape and irrigation industry for the last 15 years and brings a high level of construction competency to Strata. He's eager to work with builders, fabricators and construction professionals that enjoy installation fundamentals . Paul has a strong background in planting and irrigation. He also has a well-developed knowledge of chemical application and landscape maintenance which always helps during operational handoffs.

George Ramos

Construction Manager

George joins us from Central Texas. He has worked in landscape construction and general contracting for the last 20 years. He has experience across multiple disciplines including large-scale landscape enhancements, concrete, fabrication, irrigation, and other basic utilities. He has a sense of positivity that's hard to match, is eager to tackle challenging projects, and puts customer service front and center on every job.

Jill Zimmerman

Senior Estimator

With fifteen years of experience in the field of landscape architecture and construction, Jill strives to provide a first-rate pre-construction service experience. A detail-oriented professional with a strong background in design, procurement and estimating. Jill is a high level industry analyst with the ability to sort through data, protecting the company's interests and ultimately ensuring a seamless installation process. Core position tenets include procurement of materials, project estimation, contract negotiation, budget management and subcontractor coordination.

Tanya Stanley

Estimating Assistant

Tanya is responsible for managing data, organizing bids, and providingITB communication updates. As an estimating assistant, she also manages day-to-day procedures and plays an active role in quantifying takeoff information and project data. These efforts provide senior estimators the necessary tools to complete and submit final proposals and estimates. Tanya has worked in both the fields of architecture and landscape architecture which provides a strong set of fundamental skills needed to effectively coordinate a variety of pre-construction tasks.

Dillon Tuttle

Design Manager

Dillon is a reliable team player who strives to deliver consistently high quality work. With 10 years of residential design-build experience he has been involved in a variety of projects and enjoys working across multiple disciplines to turn thoughtful concepts into successful installations. He helped establish AutoCAD and SketchUp design standards to streamline associated responsibilities including design development, cost estimation, and construction documentation. Dillon also plays a significant role in ongoing business development.

Amber Bissell

Office Manager

Amber has worked in construction related fields for the past 15 years managing operations and work flow for a broad range of companies. She has experience in human resources, accounts payable & receivable, vendor management, purchasing, team building, inventory control and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service. She holds multiple certifications including but not limited to UH Effective Leadership, UH Communication Strategies and UH ​Agile Project Management. Amber manages a variety of tasks for Strata such as payroll, AR/AP, project bonding submittals, pay applications and contract management.

Mary Velasquez

Office Assistant

Mary has worked in the administrative and office support fields for the last several years. She has a strong commitment to customer service and a diligent work ethic. Her primary responsibilities include vendor management, financial data collection and organization, and digital archiving. She also assists the company with maintenance and enhancement accounts receivable. Mary also helps with payroll data entry.

Lendy Cano

Office Assistant

Lendy has worked as an office administrator for the last several years in both construction and associated industries. She assists multiple personnel at Strata in administration, construction, and design. Lendy helps manage schedules and crews, assists our office manager with payroll, writing training manual updates and company processes. She also helps us with sample and material procurement.

Terry Buenrostro

Fleet Operations

Terry provides the company with a far-ranging skill set and in addition to managing our fleet operates our Class 8 trucks along with several other CDL drivers. He's a logistics specialists in the transportation industry. His secondary responsibilities include purchasing and maintaining vehicles for deliveries, registering and licensing vehicles and finding creative ways to maximize profits.

Saul Guzman

Fleet Operations

Saul has worked within the industry for the last decade in multiple roles. He has a strong background in landscape enhancements, maintenance, and more recently material transport. He helps Strata with pickup and offloading, spoil removal, and softscape material delivery. Saul has the consummate get it done attitude and works to maintain and efficient team environment.

Joe Rendon

Fleet Operations

Joe has worked with Strata since its early days. A consummate professional behind the wheel and always eager to tackle whatever challenge we request of him. Joe shows up early and stays late to get stone, soils, lumber, and steel delivered to whatever crew needs the raw materials to keep plugging away at our project mission that particular day. We value his attitude and his work ethic.
