As the Rainey Street District flourishes, the connection between the Lady Bird Lake Trail and Rainey Street has become increasingly vital for both transportation and access to nature. This project establishes a crucial gateway to the Trail, significantly enhancing ecological function, expanding recreational opportunities, and enriching amenities for both the neighborhood and Trail users. Key features include an expansion of Great Streets along Cummings Street with new benches, wider sidewalks, and ample shade trees. Additionally, the project delivered a substantial meadow rehabilitation, new pathways, inviting playscapes, enhanced lighting, and a floating dock for kayak launches.
